The Big Move: Day 12

Heading Home

A beautiful female Arctic Grayling caught in our new home state

After a nice morning run, we started to head towards our new home. We stopped at a stream on the way and caught a couple of gorgeous Grayling. What an excellent way to be welcomed to our new home state! We met a nice guy with a young Shetland Sheepdog, Riley, that looked just like Trix when she was young. The rest of the drive was relatively uneventful for the day, but the section of highway closer to the valley was full of tight turns and sharp cliffs. But talk about amazing views! We were able to see a glacier that is about an hour from our house. Wow!

We pulled up to the house later that evening. It was a relief to finally be home. We arrived a couple days earlier than move-in day, so we set up our temporary camp at the end of a cul-de-sac that hadn’t been developed yet in our subdivision. The neighbors were great and already reaching out to see if we needed anything (showers, laundry, etc.).

The happy campers

A few days later we were in the house and we were amazed by the absolute joy and relaxation from the girls. We slept great that night.
